HENRY COUNTY, Ala. – A major road project is set to begin that may impact your drive for several months.
Motorists who use a stretch of Alabama Highway 95 will notice road work signs this week ahead of the resurfacing project.
“The project will consist of micro-milling, resurfacing, and traffic striping on Alabama Highway 95 from the intersection of Alabama Highway 52 in Columbia to the intersection of Lapine Drive in Abbeville,” according to a news release from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
Road work is set to begin on Monday, April 12, with weather permitting.
ALDOT reminds motorists to be mindful of posted speed limits and to slow down with workers present in the construction zone.
“Travel delays can be expected as there will be lane closures throughout the project,” ALDOT said.
The project, awarded to Birmingham-based MidSouth Paving, Inc., will cost an estimated $4 million and should be completed this summer.
