According to the police officials, the 28-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his grandmother to death, seriously injuring his mother and shooting three people while trying to steal their vehicles. Police say the suspect was shot twice by deputies as he tried to flee on foot after abandoning a stolen vehicle. The 28-year-old suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was scheduled to be charged with the murder of his 78 year old grandmother among other charges, upon his release from the hospital.
This unfortunate incident occurred Sunday, Aug. 1, in their home in Louisiana, where the suspect, Aaron Morgan, stabbed his grandmother, Dianne Gafford, and mother following an escalation of a domestic violence situation. After the incident, he fled the scene in his grandmother’s car, driving to the nearby shopping center, where he tried to dump his grandmother’s car and steal another.
Police say there, he shot a man while trying to steal his truck and two women while trying to take their vehicle. Then he found a vehicle running with the keys inside and took off in that. Deputies pursued him until he abandoned the vehicle and took off on foot. He pointed his gun at the deputies, so they opened fire.
Three victims were shot at the shopping center and they are in stable condition, police said. This incident is still under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
