MOBILE, AL — A 9-year-old girl is charged with the death of her 4-year-old brother, after she beats him with a broomstick.
The Mobile Police responded to a home around 8 a.m. on Feb. 3 for a medical emergency when they found the dead boy.
The court documents show that the 9-year-old girl is accused of beating her 4-year-old brother with a broomstick and there were also unexplained past injuries on the boy which were a proof of a long-term abuse.
The boy’s aunt and caregiver, Yolanda Coale, 53, on Feb. 3 was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse, according to the officials.
Coale remains jailed on $150,000 bond.
