Dothan, AL – According to the city officials, there are two areas of funding: from the CARES Act and from the American Rescue Plan. Officials say that both are being given to the city of Dothan to help with issues caused by the pandemic.
The Community Development Block Grant CARES Act funding is benchmarked for housing assistance, neighborhood improvements and economic development activities for people of low and moderate income.
Legal Services of Alabama Inc. will receive $50,000, so they can provide free legal services to combat homelessness.
The SA will receive $65,522.75 to renovate the emergency disaster command center, so they can better facilitate responses in a disaster.
The Dothan Housing Authority will receive $100,000 dollars of funding and use the funds to install an advanced air filtration system.
Officials say that the state of Alabama received approximately 4 billion in combined American Rescue Plan and CARES Act funding.
