DOTHAN, Ala. – It is the last week to hear ringing bells, the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle fundraiser comes to an end for the year on Thursday.

This is the organizations biggest fundraiser of the year.

For 2020 they set a goal of raising $105,000. So far, they have raised $82,000 dollars. Putting them about $23,000 short of their goal so far.

They have not yet counted the money raised over this past weekend.

“Every dollar is someone in need, right,” Captain Nathan Jones, Salvation Army of Dothan, said. “There are people who are hungry, there are people who are cold, there are people who once it gets hot are going to need air conditioning. We need to help people year round, not just the through the holidays but passed the holidays.”
