DOTHAN, Ala. – Final payments have been made to Phyllis Edwards; the Dothan city schools superintendent who jumped ship midway through her contract. Among those payments is over $31,000 in vacation pay.

Edwards also received several thousand additional dollars in salary and insurance payments due under her contract.

She received a prorated salary of $6832.71 for September, after abruptly stepping down on the 14th of that month.

Other payments include:

· $7970.35 in insurance payments

· $31,641.77 for accrued vacation time (62 days)

Edwards had over two years remaining on her five-year contract. She was not penalized for failing to give a required 120-day notice, per that agreement.

WTVY obtained a list of payments made to her after submitting a public records request.

Edwards is retired and lives in Florida.
