DOTHAN, Ala. — The Wiregrass United Way made a big announcement today; that they met their fundraising goal of $2.9 million dollars.
Between promotional WUW days around the Wiregrass such as ‘Giving Tuesdays’, ‘Wiregrass Wednesdays’, and multiple fundraising events, they met their challenge from The Wiregrass Foundation, who pledged $400,000.00 if they met the goal.
“This is just incredible,” said Walter Hill, CEO of Wiregrass United Way. “I literally told people for days this wasn’t possible, which I maybe will never say again, because I’ve learned anything is possible in the Wiregrass.”
As of now the Wiregrass United Way has raised $3.3 million dollars and there are still donations to be counted.
