DOTHAN, Ala.— The Wiregrass Area Food Bank is partnering with schools throughout the Wiregrass.

This school food pantry program aims to assist families who may find it difficult to make ends meet.

This program puts food into the schools for students to take with them or for parents to pick-up directly from the school.

It also allows them to reach their goal of getting as much food to as many people as possible.

Now, the Wiregrass Area Food Bank needs help from students to further advance this program.

“Reach out to your schools,” assistant director Julie Gonzalez said. “Talk to them; see if you can be a help. See if there is something that you can do to make it easier for your school to have a food pantry. We’re just trying to do the best that we can to make it a lot easier for children that need help to be fed or parents that need help to be served.”
