DOTHAN, Ala. — As the calendar moves to 2021, there will be more graduating seniors declaring where they will be playing ball at college.
In the past day, two Wiregrass seniors committed to play and one will be playing in a premiere conference.
Enterprise’s do it all running back, Josh McCray, announced on twitter that he will be headed north to join the football program at the University of Illinois.
McCray, a three star recruit, according to 247sports.com will be competing at the highest level of college football in one of the power five conferences.
Illinois has had a history of producing NFL caliber players and specifically at the running back position with guys like Rashard Mendenhall and Pierre Thomas who both had successful years in the NFL.
Then last night, Northside Methodist’s leader and captain, Jay Austin Solomon, committed to play at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
The interior lineman was the anchor for the Knights who impressed many this year during their first season in the AHSAA. Northside went 5-5 this season but boasted one of the highest scoring offenses in the Wiregrass.
