DOTHAN, AL — The Friends of the Dothan Houston County Library made the most generous donation ever to the library. It is a whopping $42,000.
The association every year works effortlessly to provide funds for the library, which includes memberships and multiple book sales around the year.
They also have the community to thank, as they helped tremendously with the wide range of books that they were selling for $1.
Librarians say the donation will be put to good use and enrich the library.
“That donation will go of course to more books, nonfiction, large print books, paperback books, e-books adding to the library collection, it will go towards library activities and some library improvements,” President Everlie Bolton said.
The next book sale will happen in April.
