DOTHAN, Ala. — Special Olympian Brandi Deese presented a check to Dothan Leisure Services Wednesday.

The proceeds come through the sale of her yearly calendars.

A total of $2,829 and 7 cents was awarded to the city’s therapeutic cycling program, which helps those with developmental disabilities.

Deese got her start in this program and went on to win a silver medal in the world games Special Olympics

“I kinda want to give back, and we need this money because we need every opportunity to do something,” she said.

Due to the calendars’ popularity, Deese plans to continue creating them.
