DOTHAN, Ala.— Five Star Food Service, Inc. recently opened an office in Dothan, and its charity has always been fighting child hunger.
Wednesday, the service donated over $10,000 to the local food bank, but what was a surprise was the amount of that donation.
“I had no idea how much the check would be for,” said Julie Gonzalez, assistant director of Wiregrass Area Food Bank. “But you know, I’d show up because I’m just thankful for anything we receive, but this is amazing. This is a wonderful start to what I hope will be a profitable relationship for both Five Star Food Service, Inc. and the Wiregrass Area Food Bank.”
They hope to start a snack pack program where kids would have snacks to take home during their time away from school meals.
