DOTHAN, Ala. — The Alabama Department of Public Health released new COVID-19 recovery numbers Thursday morning.
The state as a whole has confirmed 16,181 cases and 590 deaths from COVID-19. However, out of these cases, 9,355 people are presumed to have recovered.
Subtracting this figure and the number of deaths from the total number cases, this means that there are around 6,236 active cases left in Alabama. The daily total for new confirmations dropped down to 354 Wednesday after Monday and Tuesday recorded the highest counts since the pandemic began.
The ADPH is currently working on a county-by-county breakdown of recovery numbers. Here is the total of confirmed cases in the Southeastern District:
- Butler County — 392 cases; 13 deaths
- Coffee County — 219 cases; one death
- Houston County — 185 cases; four deaths
- Pike County — 173 cases; zero deaths
- Barbour County — 131 cases; one death
- Dale County — 96 cases; zero deaths
- Covington County — 76 cases; one death
- Henry County — 70 cases; two deaths
- Crenshaw County — 68 cases; two deaths
- Geneva County — 40 cases; zero deaths
On Wednesday, the ADPH confirmed that 632 people with the virus were hospitalized.
