DOTHAN, Ala. — Wednesday, the Dothan High Wolves were a pretty busy bunch as five of their seniors across three sports signed to move on to the college level.

Starting with baseball, three of the five seniors will be on the baseball diamond at a college program next summer.

Dawson Hamilton will be playing about an hour north from his high school when he joins the Troy Trojans program. Hamilton thought it was great to not only sign but to do with two of his teammates next to him.

“It is awesome, shout out to them, they are great ball players, and our team has potential to have a lot more people sign but yeah it is awesome, super blessed, and I wouldn’t be here without God and the opportunities he provided,” Hamilton said

Hamilton will help out with the Trojans pitching rotation, and his teammate, Chase Allsup will be headed to Auburn to help with the Tigers pitching staff as well. For Allsup, choosing Auburn came pretty easy to him.

“Both of my parents went to Auburn, I have been going there since I was little and every time I go up there, it feels like I am at home,” Allsup said.

The third baseballer to sign was Jace Dyer who inked his name to play for Southern Union State Community College, which is about an hour or so east of Birmingham.

The other two signees, were Alexis Hudgens and Collier Peaden.

Hudgens, a women’s basketball commit to division one Alabama State. Hudgens said it was a goal of hers to play at a HBCU and today was a dream come true.

“It means a lot because when I was little it is all I ever dreamed of, playing a division level of basketball and everything is coming true,” Hudgens said.

Collier Peaden will be playing softball at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City and there were a number of reasons as to why she chose GCSC.

“I went and visited and I absolutely love the coaches and I know some of the girls who go their now, one girl I have been playing with for years, me and her decided to commit together so that really set it on GCSC,” Paeden said.
