DOTHAN, Ala. — LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is asking for blood donations in preparation for the impact of possibly severe winter weather.

According to LifeSouth, local and national blood supplies are “dangerously low” across the country.

The center says it needs daily donations to keep a steady blood supply for hospitals and communities impacted by natural disasters.

“All blood donors receive a wellness screening prior to donation, and each donation will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies,” the center said. “To find a blood drive close to you or to learn more about the donation process, call LifeSouth’s toll-free number, 1-888-795-2707 or make an appointment at www.lifesouth.org.”
