DOTHAN, Ala.- The Henry County Commission on Tuesday awarded a bid to the Wiregrass Construction Company for the resurfacing of county roads.
The project is part of a series of phases to repave and repair county roads. It will be paid for using money from the Rebuild Alabama gas tax, as well as other funding.
The project is now into its’ second phase, which will resurface more than three miles of County Road 55 from the State Highway 134 marker going south to the Houston County line. Phase one, which was completed in 2020, resurfaced more than five miles of County Road 55 from the State Highway 134 marker going north.
Wiregrass Construction Company had the lowest bid of $702,481.22.
The project is expected to begin in May and could be complete by mid-summer.
