DOTHAN, Ala. – A Dothan woman has been charged with aggravated child abuse after investigators say she kicked a 5-year-old.
Chiquita Nicole Hunter, 25, of Dothan, has been charged with aggravated child abuse with a bond of $60,000.
According to police, a Dothan Police School Resource Officer was notified by a local school faculty member last Friday that a five-year-old was having a medical issue that could have been caused by a person. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment for a serious physical injury, police said.
Dothan police’s special investigations unit was notified. After multiple interviews and reviewing medical records, police believe that Hunter kicked the child in the upper torso.
She was arrested Tuesday after an interview with police.
