DOTHAN, Ala. – A Dothan man faces assault charges and could face more serious charges if the 19-year old he is accused of shooting dies.
David Raul Townsend, 20, was apprehended after a shooting in Cottonwood Friday night. Initial reports said the teen had been shot in the face.
“The victim was taken to a local hospital and transferred to a Birmingham hospital by helicopter,” Cottonwood Department of Public Safety Director Colonel Jim Smith told News 4.
“Officers consider the injuries life threatening,” he said.
The victim has not been publicly identified but is not related to the suspect, who is held on $30,000 bond, as of 9 pm Friday.
