DOTHAN, Ala.— A Dothan man has been charged with possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop.

Colby Steven Bright, 33, of Dothan was stopped Wednesday evening on Highway 79, just north of Highway 160, by a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

According to police, Knight told the deputy he did not possess a valid license and a check through dispatch revealed the tag attached to the motorcycle he was driving was not assigned to the vehicle.

K-9 Lasso performed a free-air sniff and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in Knight’s backpack.

Inside the backpack, deputies found a container that held a smoking pipe and a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Knight was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
