DOTHAN, Ala.- 20 public schools in Alabama were apart of Southeast Gas’ “2021 Give Back to Schools.” One wiregrass school system was awarded.

Every year since 2010 Southeast Gas and it’s board of directors provide dollars to public schools based on their natural gas usage.

This year, Dothan City School’s received $5,190.

Acting superintendent, Dennis Coe said the funds will be used to purchase the pixellot cameras. The cameras have been installed in all DCS athletic venues to live stream those events.

“But we’ve been severely impacted by the lack of gate receipts so I’m hoping the camera’s that we installed will help, that parents as they sign up to view the event, we get a portion of that back to the athletic department. So we’re hoping that will help offset some of the loss that we’ve experienced in our gate receipts,” Dr. Dennis Coe, acting superintendent for Dothan City Schools said.
