DOTHAN, Ala. – The City of Dothan Department of Leisure Services will hold youth baseball and youth fast pitch softball registration January 9 and January 11-16.
First time participants must bring a birth certificate, and everyone must show proof of insurance. The baseball program is for ages 5-19 (Dothan Southern League Baseball accepts 4-year olds); the fast pitch softball program is for ages 5-18. The age cut-off for baseball is April 30; the age cut-off for softball is August 1.
Hours of registration will be:
* Saturday, January 9: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
* Monday – Friday, January 11-15: 3:30 p.m.– 6:00 p.m.
* Saturday, January 16: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
The child MUST live in the City limits of Dothan or attend school in the City Limits of Dothan (proof of attendance is required). If your child resides outside the City limits or does not attend school in the City Limits, the child MUST play recreation ball for the nearest city to their residence. No exceptions. If surrounding cities do not have recreation ball, the child may play with Dothan Leisure Services. Interested players must register at the recreation center in their region.
