DOTHAN, Ala. — Throughout the week, college teams around the nation have postponed their games due to the coronavirus.

As expected, fans of these teams and college football fans, in general, are not happy.

Some fans said football has made things seem normal during the pandemic.

“Since football season came again this year, it was like kind of a normality for us for football season, and everyone was looking forward to it,” Alabama fan Chasilyn Sawyers said. “You know, it would have definitely been a good game so I’m sure everyone was looking forward to that as well.”

Some fans, though disappointed, said that they understand the postponement and believe it is necessary to help fight back against the virus.

“I definitely feel it’s warranted,” Auburn Fan Taylor Phillips said. “I think the faster we can get around this the faster we can go to doing normal stuff so I would say I’m indifferent.”

A former Troy Football player said he would be upset because this week Troy plays a team they lost to last year, and he would want to get back at them this year, but he also said being safe should be a priority.

“Me thinking about it and knowing it was supposed to be the Coastal Carolina game, yeah, I’m kind of shaking right now feeling everything,” former Troy player Jarvis Hayes said. “But like I said, I got to get back to realizing I’m in the real world now and not playing football anymore.”
