Geneva County, Ala. – Following an investigation into a deceased person discovered at a property at the junction of Highway 167 North and Geneva County Road 45 in Hartford on Sunday, a Hartford man has been charged with murder.

An autopsy on the deceased, later identified as 25-year-old Angel Nichole Stout, revealed that her death was a homicide, prompting the state Bureau of Investigation to charge 31-year-old Brandon Michael Waddell with murder.

Waddell is being detained without bail at the Geneva County Jail.

On Sunday, Hartford Police Chief Annie Ward handed over the probe to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s state Bureau of Investigation.

Once the inquiry is concluded, ABI will submit its findings to the district attorney’s office.
