Dothan, AL – According to the court documents, his name is Robert Patrick King and he will plead guilty on September 21.
Prosecutors say the defendant is expected to be sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison.
His wife, Melinda Gail King, received the same sentence when she pleaded guilty last month.
This unfortunate incident occurred in June, 2019. Their 2-year-old son, Castiel King, got out of his home and climbed into a Mazda.
His parents slept during the ordeal and his body was not found for hours.
Both parents tested positive for marijuana and alcohol.
Prosecutors say the couple’s negligence caused their son’s death.
