DOTHAN, Ala. — It’s official: Wiregrass students will have the option to attend Houston County Schools even if they don’t live inside the school district.
During Monday night’s board meeting, members approved the non-district school tuition option.
If a student wants to attend Houston County Schools, the first student in a family will have to pay $2,000, the second student will have to pay $1,500, and the third will have to pay $1,000.
“We’re going to start that the first part of April,” said Houston County Schools Superintendent Brandy White. “Once we’re through with the virtual applications, we’ll see how many students are gonna be going virtual. That’ll let us know how many spots we’ll have to be able to take at each school for non residents.”
