Short the Squirrel visits the Rotary Club

DOTHAN, Ala. — The Rotary Club had a special visitor on Monday.

Short the Squirrel came to the Dothan Rotary Club on Monday to promote his new activity book, “Short in Court” which will be placed in courthouses around the state.

This idea stemmed from two education professors that saw kids sitting in courthouses with nothing to do but spend time on their screens.

And from that, Short was born.

“So our overarching goal is for our children in Alabama to recognize that reading can be your superpower,” Troy University Education Professor, Dee Bennett said. “And therefore it can take you anywhere that you want to go.”

Short the Squirrel will hopefully soon be in other areas of life where children have to wait.
