DOTHAN, Ala. – A second person has tested positive for the coronavirus at Southeast Health, bringing to at least three the number of confirmed cases in Dothan, the hospital confirmed.

A resident of Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation has also tested positive, and two others are awaiting results after suffering symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

At Southeast Health, 43 people have been tested. Other than two positives, 17 of those tests have been negative and the results of 26 others are pending.

The first patient at the Dothan hospital, a Georgia resident, tested positive last week. Because that person is from out of state they are not included in the Alabama Department of Public Health count.

It’s not immediately clear whether the second Southeast Health case is from Alabama.
