DOTHAN, Ala. — Coffee County is now reporting a new COVID-19 death, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
This brings its death count to two confirmed deaths. There are no deaths currently under investigation, per the ADPH dashboard.
In the past two weeks, the county has confirmed 58 new cases, adding its total of 352 confirmed cases. Its confirmation rate from the last 14 days also rose to a high rating of 103 per 100,000 people.
As for the state at large, Alabama is now reporting a record high of hospitalizations. One hundred two hospitals say they have 776 COVID-19 patients combined as of this report.
Across Alabama, 37,536 cases have been confirmed since March. Out of these cases, 926 have ended in death.
Meanwhile, in the rest of the Southeastern District, the only counties without deaths are Dale and Geneva counties.
