DOTHAN, Ala. — Dothan City Schools will close Friday, March 5, to allow employees to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Last week, around half of the school system’s staff got vaccinated at a Southeast Health mass clinic, according to acting Superintendent Dennis Coe.
All offices and schools will be closed, but the date will not have to be made up at the end of the school year.
“We appreciate the understanding of our Dothan City School families and community as we work to provide a safe environment for our students, faculty, and staff,” the system said in a statement.
Students will return to school the Monday after the clinic.
