DOTHAN, Ala. — The Glasgow family said Friday that they got their justice after activist Kenneth Glasgow’s capital murder charge was dropped by a grand jury.

Back in March of 2018, Glasgow was involved in the shooting of 23-year-old Breunia Jennings.

Glasgow was the driver to Jamie Townes, who was the person police say actually killed Jennings.

Three years later, a grand jury has dropped the capital murder charge against Glasgow.

“We’ve been praying for a long time three years for this to happen and it has finally happened,” daughter Kenyetta Rich-Glasgow said.

In the state of Alabama, when a person fires shots into an occupied vehicle, it becomes a capital murder case — which is what linked Glasgow to the case.

Kenyetta Glasgow said it was a heavy burden seeing her father go through this trying process.

“And I knew the God that I serve whenever he got ready, it was really the trying of our faith,” Kenyetta said.

“For him to be able to beat those charges for those charges to be surpassed and moved on away from him it’s a wonderful feeling,” she added.

While it’s a wonderful feeling for the Glasglow family, Jenning’s mother Lakesia Reeves is still in pain.

While she was unable to speak to WDHN Friday, she did tell us how her daughter’s death caused her so much pain.

“I have my days I wake up I miss her but on the other hand I know God is able,” Reeves said.

Kenyetta Glasgow did say while they are celebrating her father’s freedom from the charge, they are still sympathetic to Jennings’ family.

“We’re not only just celebrating the life of him regaining but also the life of Breunia.” Kenyetta Glasgow said. “Our condolences go to the family, and they have since day one.”

While Reeves didn’t want to speak on camera, she did tell me that she continues to grieve her daughter every day.

Glasgow’s legal troubles aren’t done, however, as he still faces charges for second-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance.
