DOTHAN, Ala. — The time for people to take the census has been cut down to the end of September.
It is important for people to take the census because it gives the state more representation as well as federal funding.
1600 dollars is given back to the community for every person that takes the census.
“So make sure that you’ve talked the census to any groups, to any church, to neighbors, to anyone and spread the word that this is the last push that the census is vital,” Census Coordinator Lori Wilcoxon said.
Alabama is in danger of losing 2 congressional representatives if they don’t have 100 percent on the census.
