DOTHAN, Ala. — The new year started off with a bang for those in need as Time Youth Dothan Inc. found a way to give back to the community.

“We know times are hard and we wanna find a way where we can find a solution as far as people meeting a need so we decided to give away free clothes and shoes for people in need. We had people in the community who donated clothes and volunteers who came in and helped and it was collectively a community gathering,” Executive Director Nate Patterson said.

At the impact center, there was a room full of new and gently used clothes and shoes in all sizes. And, there was absolutely no limit to what customers could pack up to fulfill their needs as it was first come first serve.

Whenever you can bring joy to people’s life it can be uplifting so when we see and we see laughter and smiles and just being thankful for the small things it just brings joy to my wife and I,” Nate Patterson said.

“It’s a blessing we feel blessed it’s not just us it takes everybody. It took so many people to come by and drop off things even with tags on em it was just awesome. We appreciate everybody because it takes a village..Better together,” Founder Keni Patterson said.

Not only does the organization has your back on clothes and shoes, but they also offer programs for the youth that they believe can create change and have an impact.

“We offer free guidance programs after school mentoring, teens to work program for teens 14-19 but God just allowing us to meet parents and families that have been coming in and kinda showing us like hey its bigger than us just catering to the youth and we just want to find ways we can help.

The organization said depending on how many clothes are donated they will look into another giveaway in the future.
