COVID-19 vaccine doses can be taken at different locations, local health official says

DOTHAN, Ala. — As the COVID-19 vaccine continues to be distributed, the Alabama Department of Public Health is distributing the vaccine to Phase 1-A recipients, which includes frontline employees and emergency service personnel.

Recipients can go to any state health department to receive their vaccine, no matter if they live or work in that specific county or not.

They also do not have to receive both doses at the same department

“You do not have to because Moderna and Pfizer are both two-dose shots,” said Corey Kirkland, health administrator for the southeastern district of Alabama. “You do not have to get the same, you know, the first and second dose at the same location. Just make sure that you do the paperwork, you keep your appointment card so that they know which dose you’re getting.”

If you have any questions, contact your county health department.
